Well, I beat three games on the aforementioned list.
Uncharted (PS3): Beautifully-crafted game that has enraptured me with the action/adventure genre all over again and helped me out of this RPG hole I dug myself. Now I feel more open-minded about what games I want to play.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (NDS): The best of the Mario & Luigi RPG series that I've played so far. Oozes all kinds of charm and at times can be laugh-out-loud funny. Top-notch localization and stellar gameplay.
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (NDS): I've now become a fan of these point-and-click adventure puzzle games. Very open to try other series that are out there.
....
I ended up buying 12 new ones. Damn you Amazon.com and your awesome deals!!
Bioshock (PS3)
The Last Remnant (360)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (360)
Rhythm Heaven (NDS)
Mystery Dungeon Shiren the Wanderer (NDS)
Tales of Vesperia (360)
Sonic Unleashed (360)
Banjo and Kazooie Nuts and Bolts (360)
Prince of Persia (PS3)
Mirror's Edge (PS3)
Dead Space (PS3)
All for approximately... $170.00! All brand new. Not bad, I must say. :)
Oh and then I bought New Super Mario Bros. Wii full-price at Best Buy since Mario games tend to never get cheaper. That was $50, which the thought of buying at such a high price makes me cringe. Guess I'm a full-fledged Cheap Ass Gamer.
3 steps forward, 12 steps back!!
In related news, I set up my own Backloggery account! It keeps track of all the games I own and their status in terms of what's been beaten and what has yet to be completed. It's cute, check it out.

Backlog Challenge!
Stole this idea from the Penny Arcade forums.
I have too many games. Like literally over a hundred of them just chillin' in a bookcase collecting dust. I've decided to put my foot down and stop buying any new games until I beat a certain amount. I've decided that until I beat 10 games, I will allow myself to purchase 3 new ones. I will repeat this process until my backlog has substantially diminished. The 10 that I am currently working on are:
Uncharted (PS3)
Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (DS)
Mario Kart Wii (Wii)
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (DS)
Lost Odyssey (360)
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)
Okami (PS2)
Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga (PS2)
Dragon Quest V (DS)
It'll be like 10 steps forward, 3 steps back. Yeah, this will work. O_O

Subconscious Stereotyping
For the second time, I accidentally called someone at my work by the wrong name. Instead of calling her by her real name "Marcella", I have this inexplicable tendency to call her "Sharonda." Both of the times this has happened, I'm not entirely sure she heard me call her Sharonda because she always has her earphones on. And when it does happen, like a lightning-quick reflex, I say Marcella right after to hopefully drown out the utterance of "Sharonda."
Seriously does this make me racist or what? Either way, it makes me crack up thinking about it. Where the fuck does "Sharonda" keep coming from? Perhaps because she's a big black MoniqueQueenLatifah of a woman, the name slips because I have this prototypical image in my head of a plus-sized African-American woman named Sharonda. Kinda like how you think of a ghetto black woman, you think "Shaneequa" or "Bonqueesha."
It was so embarrassing though. I hope she didn't hear me call her that.

Mom's home!
The day my mom moves to Vegas has finally arrived! After three years, my mom was able to retire and leave the Bay to live with us in Vegas. It's been a long time coming to say the least.
Our house feels much more complete considering all of the stuff that she brought here from San Francisco. I'm excited to have home-cooked meals pretty much everyday. My dad won't feel so alone anymore, and most significantly my parents are no longer separated.
Hopefully our plans here in Vegas play out like we want them to.
I was in the process of making an offer on another house and getting approved for a loan, but I ultimately had to back out of it. I personally would rather stay at our current house and try to find a way to make our mortgage more affordable. I love our house!
Moving furniture sucks. My arms are sore and I was sweating like a pig. I never want to move again!
In other news, Sid and I and a few of our close Vegas friends embarked on a SoCal trip to attend Nocturnal Festival. For the uninformed, it's a rave. The headlining DJ was no other than Ferry Corsten, although I personally was not feeling his set very much. I think my tastes for electronic music have hugely evolved since 2004, from trancey stuff to a lot more techy/electro/groovy stuff. Thankfully Rank1 was also there that night and I completely loved his set. It's an awesome feeling to be able to recognize a lot of the music he was playing (This World is Watching Me, Life Less Ordinary, And Then...) and hearing it played on a massive acoustic configuration of speakers and lights with literally thousands of people on the same wavelength as you. There's no other comparable feeling.
The day following the rave, we hit up Dave and Buster's, Victoria Gardens, Scandia, and ended the trip at Olive Garden in Victorville (i.e. middle of nowhere). Might upload some pics on Facebook sometime.
After the trip, I caught a bad cold and had to miss a couple of days of work because I felt quite smacked in the face: my sinuses were horribly congested to the point where I felt as though I was beaten in the head/face with a baseball bat a few times. A runny nose and slight cough still linger to this day, but I'm just glad the worst part of it is over. With all this hard labor with the big move though, I hope I don't relapse.

Let's try this again!
So it's only been more than a year since my last entry. I can't believe that that much time has passed since the day I created this blog.
Well, a part of me wants to give it another go. I promise to make a more conscientious endeavor in regularly chronicling what's been going on in my life, my thoughtsopinionsrantsravesreviews, and just random things from which I find even an iota of amusement.
For instance, this: www.awkwardfamilyphotos.com. Undoubtedly one of the funniest websites I've come across in a long time. Shelly, my co-worker, forwarded it to me and now I'm forever grateful because of the comedic gold that oozes from it. Make sure to read the comments, a lot of the LULZ can be found there.
